After our concert at St George's Church Ashtead 28 March 2009

Jilly's JottingsIt wasnt too too wet for the 350 people rollin' and a-strollin' to St George's Ashtead on a Saturday night in March saying "let me be there".

Where do they all come from? - I think some were day trippers. It was another concert given by Elmbridge Choir - yes it was! The people at the Box Office said "we hope you will enjoy the show, sit back and let the evening go - and listen to the music of the night".

It had been a hard days night for Steve and his team erecting the staging and finalising all the details - he had been working like a dog - but we went into it thinking everything was all right - yes it was! Cliff said the staging goes like this in rows up to the 4th, the 5th and the major lift - but dont worry, I'll make you safe no matter where you are with maybe only the minor fall! He had arranged us well so that we the great and small stood on the stage and blazed a trail of desire to raise as much money as we could for the Royal Marsden Cancer Campaign.

The raffle ticket sellers said "I dont like begging but now I'm on bended knees - we're asking for the takings - we've got a good reason! On this occasion, we did care too much for money for money could buy us health.

The concert began and Cliff said "take each song and start to make it better, better, better, better - it's easy if you try, it isnt hard to do - all the impossible I wanna do". So I did my best it wasn't much - but I'm not the only one - and we could see the audience movin' and a-groovin' and reelin' with the feelin' on that Saturday night!

Then the Mayor and other speakers said "I'll tell you something and I think you'll understand and whispered words of wisdom - very many!

At the end of the concert Cliff said "hm, that was a-may, a-may-yah, zing - how sweet, sweet the sound! And as the audience left, many said "only want to know only want to know - about your future concerts -

I always want to be there -ah!
