Cobham will be filled with the sound of glorious music on Friday 6th April, as ACS International School plays host to the Mayor of Elmbridge's Charity Concert in support of Oasis Children’s Charity.

Based in Cobham, Oasis looks after families in crisis who have been directed to them by other agencies. Explaining why she chose to support Oasis during her Mayoral year, Councillor Rachael Lake said, ‘Oasis makes a real difference to many families and does invaluable work in the Borough. Every penny raised from this fundraising concert will help them to extend their excellent services.’

Featuring performances from three superb local musical ensembles - Weybridge Male Voice Choir, Elmbridge Choir and the 1st Claygate Scout and Guide Band - a hugely entertaining evening is promised.

The renowned Weybridge Male Voice Choir enjoys a well-deserved reputation for the quality and high standard of its performance and is now under the inspired musical direction of Jonathan Kilhams.

Drawn from Scouting and Guiding movements across Claygate, the talented youngsters of 1st Claygate Scout and Guide Band, aged 8 to 18 years, perform a wide repertoire from traditional marches through to music from TV and film.

The impressive 140-voice Elmbridge Choir, part of Surrey Music, regularly performs charity concerts in Surrey and has helped to raise in excess of £170,000 for worthy causes over 12 years.

Tickets for the concert, which starts at 7.30pm, cost £12.50

Cliff van Tonder, MD Elmbridge Choir
My choir is really looking forward to this concert. We are working hard on some great new numbers and excited about supporting Oasis whom we first supported back in 2009 when we raised just over £2,000 at our Eurovision party and Molesey Regatta concerts.

Its a privilege to join forces with Weybridge Male Voice Choir (WMVC) and 1st Claygate Scout & Guide Band in aid of such a good cause and we thank the Mayor Cllr. Rachael Lake for the opportunity.

The highlight will undoubtedly be a joint massed-choir performance with the WMVC which will be under the direction of Johnny Kilhams.
