In October, we discovered that Oliver Gibson, Elmbridge Choir's brilliant keyboard accompanist and son of Elmbridge Ladies Choir member Debbie Gibson, had been shortlisted for the prestigious Commonwealth Compostion Challenge 2020!

16 year old Oliver entered his piano duet composition, 'Forever' - a truly beautiful piece which you can hear via the link below -and was deservedly shortlisted along with 10 other young people from all over the Commonwealth. Unfortunately he was pipped at the final post, but this was an amazing achievement and we were absolutely delighted for him!

You can hear Oliver's composition here (scroll down to the 11th video)

It is also worth listening to the heartfelt and inspiring message (first video) from Layne Robinson, Head of Social Policy, Commonwealth, who speaks of the importance of music, particularly amongst our young people.
