Bringing Music to the Community at Christmas

November 2010

With their characteristic warmth and festive cheer in abundance, members of Elmbridge Music will be spreading goodwill and plenty of harmony throughout the local Community this Christmas.

The hugely popular Elmbridge Choir has been invited to take part once again in the ‘Cobham at Christmas' celebrations on Friday 26th November when the festive lights will be switched on. Since stepping in to bring a bit of sparkle to an otherwise rather bleak Christmas a couple of years ago, the appearance of this merry group of singers in their fleecy red scarves is becoming something of a welcome tradition for the residents and traders of Cobham.

Elmbridge Community Music Society has for five years been performing concerts in order to raise funds for charity and to promote and foster an appreciation for music for its members and the wider community. This year to celebrate ‘the most wonderful time of the year' Elmbridge Music will be performing two Christmas concerts and will be raising funds to help and support music-related activities and projects within Elmbridge and the surrounding areas.

Saturday 11th December will see the return of four sections of Elmbridge Music to the Leatherhead Theatre in two family-friendly concerts starting at 3pm and 7.30pm. The afternoon concert will feature the fun-loving Elmbridge Ladies Choir, whilst in the evening the 130-strong Elmbridge Choir will take to the stage. Wowing the audience at both concerts will be the fabulous Elmbridge Community Big Band and the delightful Elmbridge Young Musicians who will entertain with a magical mix of festive music and plenty of all-time seasonal favourites.
